Built an engineering infrastructure at a Broadband DSL equipment manufacturer, specializing in selling customized Modems/Routers to ISPs. Managed suppliers’ (DSL chip suppliers and Router manfucturers) engineering efforts and personally developed and customized software solutions.

 

Key accomplishments:

  • Developed one of the “most user friendly” web management interfaces for DSL Routers in the industry.
  • Established the company’s Software Intellectual Property, previously scattered at our manufacturers.
  • Built an infrastructure to support multiple software configurations based on a common code base.
  • Developed an automated “Operations Management Tool” to consolidate multiple software tools and inefficient processes into one software package based on MS Access.

Key accomplishments:

  • Converted an obsolete product from Windows 98 to Windows 2000 & XP in two weeks. Original estimates were nine months to “impossible”!
  • After the software manager unexpected departure, provided smooth management for three additional months, released critical software versions for existing and new products.

Managed the Engineering Department, composed of: Software (DSP, PC, host APIs), Hardware (Analog, Digital) and Test Engineering groups. Responsible for new product development, sustaining and enhancement of existing products. As part of the executive management team experienced all steps of a growing startup.   • Completed the Femto 2000 product, a state of the art Multi channel Time Interval Analyzer for the Automatic Test Equipment industry

Managed the development of speech recognition applications for financial institutions.My responsibilities were to identify product opportunities, define requirements, plan, implement and install products. Development platforms were Windows NT and UNIX, utilizing C++, MFC, VB, Java, Corba and COM.

 

GaSonics International, San Jose , CA 1994-1998

Software Department Manager

 

Managed GaSonics’ software department and subcontractors with over twenty software engineers world-wide, in the development of new products, a dozen legacy systems and the software QA group. Established development and support procedures across the company.

 

Key accomplishments:

·        Managed and developed the PEP cluster tool. This award-winning tool is the best and fastest ramping product in GaSonics’ history. Released eight major software versions in 18 months. Sold over a hundred tools in less than a year, accounted for 60% of GaSonics’ revenue ($60-70m). Due to this success the company started a program to implement dozens of new hardware components and over a hundred of software features, resulting in all new products being based on this platform.

·        Built a successful software organization to support concurrent development programs, resulting in high quality products and no turnover in over two years.

·        As a consultant, completed in four months the first SMIF Asher tool in the industry. Follow up orders accounted for millions of dollars in revenue.

 

Elta Electronics Industries, Israel 1990-1994

Software Project Manager

 

Developed key projects in the COMINT, Video Motion Detection and Video Enhancement areas.Researched signal processing modules, defined requirements for hardware and software, designed the components interface and software architecture. Led the software team through the implementation, integration and delivery of these products. Provided marketing, installation, support and training in Europe and the USA .

 

Key accomplishments:

·        Completed in four months a COMINT System for the Israeli army. Its performance was five times better than expected.It enabled the creation of a full-scale program of a comprehensive operational system, now used by the Israeli army.

·        Developed DTS-1000, advanced intrusion detection and tracking system. This successful product helped Elta in the transition process from military to civilian products.
